Jake Gallardo picks up Wild West Shootout victory at Vado Speedway Park
The 2025 season kicked off for all three Gallardo racers as all three entered the opening weekend of the 19th annual Wild West Shootout at the Vado Speedway Park in Vado, NM.
After a successful practice night on Friday, the season roared to life on Saturday with Jake racing from 11th in his qualifying heat race to finish an impressive second, which earned him the front row for the night's feature race. In the feature, he ran inside the top five all feature long, crossing the finish line in 4th place. Fito charged from 4th to win his qualifying heat race, putting him 7th in the feature starting grid. In the main, he quickly made his way into the top five and ran there throughout the 25-laps, finishing 5th on the opening night. Peyton was also in action and after a 10th place fun in his heat race, he started 16th in the b-main and worked his way forward to finish 9th on the first night of the weekend.
Sunday, Jake again bested his dad and brother by picking up the clean sweep on the night, winning his heat from the outside of the front row and then winning the feature by just inches to race to his first win of the 2025 season in dramatic fashion. Fito ran 10th in his heat race on the night and was able to work his way through the field in the b-main from 16th to finish 5th, but just missed a transfer spot into the night's feature. Peyton raced from 9th up to 8th in his heat race and then started and finished 9th in the b-main, concluding his run.
